December Without Shopping?

December Without Shopping?

OK, I admit, I am not a huge fan of shopping any other day, let alone in December. People buying things they don’t really need; giving just for the sake of doing it; over-eating, over-drinking and over-partying… All the fuss and craziness, crowds and hysteria in shopping malls…

Don’t get me wrong. I love giving. I love meeting people. I love parties. Just not on command, because “it’s that time of the year”.

Here are some shocking facts about waste produced over Christmas:

How Big is Your Bucket List?

How Big is Your Bucket List?

By recording your dreams and goals on paper, you set in motion the process of becoming the person you most want to be.
Mark Victor Hansen

When people come to me for the coaching, the very first question I ask is: “Do you know what you want?”

And in most cases they offer very broad answers like:

  • “I just want to be happy”
  • “I want to be free.”
  • “If I only have enough money…”
  • and so on…

But when we go on, one of their first assignments is to write down 100 things they want to have, be, experience, feel…

And however easy the task may seem (don’t we always have more than enough wishes?), many people find it really hard to put 100 things on their lists.

I want to help you creating your very own bucket list, a wish list, life list or whatever you may call it, that will motivate you and encourage you to make your life exciting adventure.

Little Steps towards Better Life

How often do you say to yourself and/or your kids. »I can’t afford it.« »If only we had more money.« »I don’t have time.«

But do you really need a lot of money and time to feel good and enjoy life? No. If I asked you when were you most happy, what would you say? When you had lots of money or would you remembered fun times with your friends or quite evenings with a good book. You know that being happy and satisfied has nothing to do with the money. And the same goes to time. Are you using it as an excuse?

It’s all about the attitude. The only thing you really need is an idea of what you want and some effort to follow the idea.

Get in the Mood for Giving

Get in the Mood for Giving

Are you already counting days until Christmas? All gifts bought and wrapped? If not, don’t worry. There is still time, especially if you were planning taking it slow. But even if you haven’t, take it easy.

Enjoy the December days. Go out with your kids. If there is snow in your area, go skiing or just on a walk through woods. Go skating. Be young and playful! Isn’t it awful if we miss all the December fun, just because we think it has to be crazy? Ignore all the fuzz and go with the flow, at your own pace. Don’t allow others to spoil your holidays. Don’t let the shopping wear you down. Enjoy watching the decorations, all the Santas and elves around the stores, meet with friends.

But anyway, get in the mood of giving. Not just for your family and friends. Share your blessings and your abundance with others.

Decorate Christmas Tree with Gratitude

A christmas tree.

Make different Christmas tree this year. Instead of traditional ornaments, made from glass, paper or any other material, hang on the tree posts or pictures of the you are grateful for. Of course you can still decorate your tree with classical ornaments, but add gratitude items as well.

You can put few items on the tree every day or you can follow the tradition of 12 days of Christmas and put 1 thing on the first day, 2 things on the second day and so on…

After the holidays and the celebrations are over and before you put away your tree, collect the gratitude posts and save them for the future.

It is a great way to remind you of all the abundance around you and it will help you to start new year with a positive attitude.
